Permanent Residence

Express Entry

Express entry is an online system used by the Government of Canada to manage applications for permanent residence from skilled workers who are likely to establish themselves economically in Canada through the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class or Provincial Nominee Program.

The express entry system creates a pool of candidates and ranks them according to various criteria, such as age, education, and language skills. The highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply (ITA) for permanent residency and benefit from fast processing times of six months or less.

Provincial Nomination Program (PNP)

The provincial nomination program is a jointly administered immigration program between the federal government and the provinces and territories.  It provides provinces and territories with the authority to nominate immigration applicants who intend to settle in the province or territory permanently and meet local labour market needs.  Each province and territory has its own immigration program targeting certain specific groups with different criteria for nomination.

Family sponsorship

Family reunification is a pillar of Canada’s immigration policy, and permanent residents or citizens of Canada, 18 years or older, may be eligible to sponsor certain relatives, such as their spouse, common-law partner and parents, to immigrate to Canada.

Start up visa

The start-up visa program is for entrepreneurs who want to start a business in Canada that is innovative, internationally competitive and creates jobs for Canadians. In order to qualify candidates and their business must meet specific minimum requirements pertaining to designation organization support, business structure, business control, funds and language proficiency.

Self employed

The self-employed persons program allows people to immigrate to Canada permanently as a self-employed person. To immigrate under this program, you must have two years of relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics and be willing and able to make a significant contribution these activities in Canada.

Temporary Residence

Visitors visa

A temporary resident visa (TRV) permits temporary stay in Canada for up to six months at a time for the purpose of visiting Canada (also known as a visit visa). Unless you are from a visa-exempt country, you will need a TRV to enter Canada whether you are coming for tourism, family visit or a short business trip. You may also need one if you’re transiting through a Canadian airport on your way to your final destination.

Study permit

A study permit authorizes a foreign national to engage in academic, professional, vocational or other education or training that is more than six months in duration at a designated learning institution (DLI). To apply you need to have an acceptance letter from a DLI approved by a provincial or territorial government.

Work permit

A work permit authorizes foreign nationals to work legally in Canada. An open work permit allows you to work for almost any employer in Canada and is granted under specific situations. An employer-specific work permit allows you to work according to the conditions on your work permit, which include the type of work, the employer, location, and the duration of employment.

Post-graduation work permit

Post-graduation work permit (PGWP) provides permission to remain in Canada and work full time for up to three years after you graduate from a designated learning institution. The length of the work permit depends on the length of your program. You do not require a job offer to apply and do not need to work in a specific field.

Super visa

Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents may be eligible to apply for a super visa, allowing them to visit their family in Canada for up to two years, without the need to renew their status.

Citizenship

Becoming a Canadian Citizen is an exciting opportunity. Not only will you be able to live in Canada forever, but you will have one of the most valuable passports, enabling you to travel without a visa to most countries in the world. Some of the requirements to qualify for Citizenship are time spent in Canada, filing of Canadian tax returns, language proficiency and not being inadmissible to Canada.

If you have been a permanent resident for long enough, you might be ready to apply for Canadian citizenship. If you think you might be a Canadian citizen because one of your parents or grandparents was a citizen at the time you were born, we can help you determine whether you have acquired citizenship by birth or not.

Companies

Nowadays attracting the best available talent may involve sourcing talent globally and outside of Canada. Securing immigration permission to have a foreign national work for your company may be very simple or very complex, depending on the type of work, location of the position and the nationality of the worker that you wish to hire. Ensuring that the immigration process is done the first time right, ensures that the new employee arrives, settles in and contributes to the company as soon as possible.
